The above calculation for dry volume of concrete for 1 m3 M15 concrete.
In practical we use wet concrete for casting, for this reason we have to consider the shrinkage of concrete because in combine with water dry concrete shrinks & reduced its volume with respect to the dry volume.
To get 1 m3 wet concrete we have to procure 1.54 m3 dry concrete.
Now to get the exact number of bags of cement, sand, aggregate for casting we have to multiply the dry volume (volume converted to bags) with multiplying factor 1.54 which is nothing but the ratio of wet to dry volume of concrete also known as shrinkage ratio of concrete.
- Cement = 4.05 * 1.54 = 6.23 Bag of cement.
- Sand = 8.10 * 1.54 = 12.48 Bag of sand .
- Aggregate = 16.20 * 1.54 = 25 Bag of aggregate.
